About Me
Helping people become their best selves is my passion. I've been counseling and coaching for more than 25 years in a variety of settings.
I graduated from Troy State University with a Masters Degree in Counseling and Human Development and then went to Florida State University where I received my Ph D in Human Sciences.

I graduated from the Tony Robbins Coaches Academy which is where I learned how to be a top performing life and team coach.
My advanced training is in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Positive Psychology, Acceptance Commitment Therapy and Results Coaching and I use a combination of these approaches in my sessions.

I'm currently a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina and a Certified DISC Analyst.

I recently moved from the gorgeous mountains in Western North Carolina to the Cape Fear River in Wilmington NC.
Televideo Sessions
Things have certainly changed since Covid. Televideo sessions are now more common than in-person sessions and research shows they are more effective regarding outcomes and participation.

The process is easy. 24 hours prior to your session, you'll receive an email with a link to join. You can join with your tablet, smart phone or computer from wherever you happen to be. I often say "I know the interiors of all of my client's cars".

Based on the direction of the session, I will recommend relevant growth work (home work) in order to reinforce and enhance what has transpired during the our time together.

How I Work
First, we’ll have a no-charge consultation to ensure interactive therapy or coaching televideo sessions are right for you and/or your business.

During our first session, I’ll gather information regarding goals. Then, I’ll provide you with an access code to take the DiSC assessment. The DISC assessment shows your strengths, communication style and preferred behavioral styles.

This information is very helpful in creating a plan for you to move forward and reach your goals.
-
What are your fees?Coaching or private pay therapy is $200 per session. Insurance is accepted and filed when applicable.
-
How many sessions will I need? There’s no hard-and-fast, one-size-fits-all answer to that question. Most of my clients work with me for 8 – 16 sessions.
-
What are the benefits for me?In therapy, clients learn how to identify and work with behaviors that interfere with relationships, work and school. In coaching, clients identify mental blocks that are keeping them from reaching their full potential. In team coaching, clients learn about their strengths and communication styles as well as those of those on their teams in order to become a cohesive and top performing team.
-
What can I expect in our first session? Our first session will last one hour. We’ll look at the information you submitted and I’ll gather additional information.
